“ Hometown bar feel. Good food. We shared a bison burger and chicken bacon ranch sandwich. Both came with chips (old dutch ripple - Where's the top-the-tater?!). Server was great! When we ordered she gathered that we were going to share and she asked if we wanted them cut in half. She went one step farther and actually put a half of each on both plates! ”
“ Here in an out of the way corner of Minnesota I just had one of the best nights of a seven state trip. I ate at the bar and soon was in with the locals. Melinda, the bar tender, was busy all night but always knew what her regulars wanted, was always hustling, and as busy as she was, no one ever waited too long to order. Very personable. I learned that in this part of the country if you go in and keep quiet no one will engage with you, so it's up to you to listen in and ask a question about what someone just said. Ordered the 1/2 pound of smothered chislets and you can't go wrong with that, especially with a 4 tall glass of the local breweries' larger. Memorable quotes from tonight: " I'll give you a whiskey but only if you leave" When I got involved with a dice game to determine who would pay for drinks.... "What are the rules?" "We'll tell you if you win or lose". Great time. ”
